The FUEL Model

FUEL is a Nashville-based community of investors, entrepreneurs and advisors focused on growing business for the greater good. FUEL brings resources to high-capacity CEO/owners who are intent on developing their businesses with financial returns and social impact in mind. These resources are focused on relational health and high trust in a community of experienced investors and advisors.

Resources are designed to lead to success over the long haul and include access to investment capital and competent advisors; there is strong emphasis on developing character and healthy culture. FUEL seeks to establish three to four new CEO relationships per year to promote depth of relationship and appropriate attention to strategic company issues.

The heart of what makes FUEL successful is what we call the Strategic Alignment Team (SAT). This core group consists of a lead investor, a FUEL staff member, and a specialized advisor. Depending on the current needs of the business, we are able to rotate out from our experienced bench of advisors.

Because this group can have such a direct and lasting impact on the trajectory of the entrepreneur and his or her business, we have a rigorous and thorough screening process for all parties involved.

For our Investors, we are looking for individuals and organizations who:

• are interested in investing themselves and their resources toward optimizing multiple bottom lines
• align with our vision for developing high-capacity leaders
• are intent on personally growing and helping others grow

For our Advisors, we look for professionals who:

• are recommended by others in the FUEL community
• have applicable industry expertise
• want to facilitate the growth of high-capacity leaders

For our Entrepreneurs, we look for leaders who:

• commit to using their business to benefit the greater good
• are developing an early-stage company (beyond startup) with a product or service that is generating revenue
• have demonstrated high capacity and recognize their need for counsel
